Preparation for 2011

Year one of my allotments project has been quiet so far. With only 2 plots taken, the empty plots were quickly taken over by weeds which make the place look untidy. There has been plenty of interest from locals and many have promised to call back at the end of the year to book for next year. Here’s hoping.

I will be seeding an area with grass soon for the dual purposes of tidiness and easier management. A garden shed will then be put in place for shelter. A rotovator will also be purchased soon to prepare the seedbeds for future allotment holders, and to refresh this year’s plots.

Here are some photos of what was grown in year one. I must say, the soil is fantastic!
